About
the founder
Dominique Alexandria, owner of Caribago Designs promotes visual happiness. Her favorite medium is any tangible canvas. Yet the ideal interaction is one of organic appeal and eclectic moments in time. Alexandria promotes expression of people, places, and things in their natural light, with creatives highlights on beauty and self. Sometimes, it’s just the simple things in life that matter most. Dominique visual eye vibrantly emulates her creative thought and continues to be an everlasting muse to your mind.
Dominique Alexandria, owner of Caribago Designs, is a spunky, beautiful, fun, vibrant woman. She has a background in graphic design; she has been creative since she was 3 years old, drawing palm trees with crayons. Her artistic dreams were almost crushed by a middle school teacher who told her, “Let it go; don’t become a basket weaver”. Thankfully, she didn’t listen and took up an art class during her lunch period to have a portfolio for college. After that, she started freelancing , landing her first official contract with a published author affiliated with her university, the Rochester Institute of Technology. The contract included a page layout and book cover artwork compilations. The professor then came back overly satisfied with future requests and referrals, which is how her story continues to unveil.
The entrepreneurial spirit runs in her family. Dominique got her first camera in 2015 but has been taking pictures since 2010; it’s a Nikon D3300 and she still faithfully uses it. She said, “It’s not about the equipment you have, it’s about the creative eye and how to use it; the fundamentals of composition design in an images, and what you catch with the natural eye.” She is gifted and skilled; she makes art, whether she has fancy tools or not. Her unique creativity brings out the best in herself and others. She naturally shines in the element she loves – custom art and design.
